Passed on to VIA Rail in the late 1970s, the cars then enjoyed a surprising second career: re-equipping the famous Rio Grande Ski Train between Denver and Winter Park from 1988, then returning to Canada on the Agawa Canyon Tour Train after CN bought them back.
