The star-spangled banner, locomotive size: CSX Wabtec CM44AH #250, by ScaleTrains' Rivet Counter line, wears the commemorative “Stars & Stripes” scheme for the United States' 250th anniversary — star-studded blue hood, diagonal red and white stripes and the CSX logo.

What sets this model apart is Rivet Counter's signature prototype fidelity. From late 2019 through 2025, CSX contracted GE, now Wabtec, to rebuild its aging AC4400CW locomotives: an upgraded control system and wiring, a high-pressure common-rail fuel system for up to 18% better fuel economy and, externally, an ET44-style cab with repositioned number boards and four side windows, plus new dynamic brake and inverter cabinets. No. 250, from the 228-279 series built in 1996, was repainted in 2026 to honor the nation's 250th anniversary.

This DCC and sound version comes with a factory-installed ESU LokSound 5 decoder with Full Throttle, dual speakers and super-capacitors, and all the prototype-specific detailing the Rivet Counter line is known for.
