ScaleTrains Rivet Counter HO GE Dash 8-40C
Looking to add the powerful GE Dash 8-40C to your modern HO layout, with plenty of choice in road names and details? This collection brings together every version of the GE Dash 8-40C — and its Mexican cousin, the C30-S7MP — offered by ScaleTrains Rivet Counter.
The GE Dash 8-40C (class C40-8) is a 4,000 hp, six-axle diesel-electric powered by a turbocharged GE 7FDL-16 and controlled by microprocessor, built from 1987. ScaleTrains produces it under its premium Rivet Counter line, with a factory-installed ESU LokSound 5 DCC and sound decoder and extreme attention to detail. It spans North America's major railroads — Canadian National, CSX (YN2), Norfolk Southern (Horsehead), Union Pacific (including Lightning Stripe), Chicago and North Western (including Operation Lifesaver and Safety and Reliability), Rock Island Rail (RILX) — plus Ferromex's “Diabla” Super 7 rebuild.
