Modelling modern Canadian railroading? From 1975 to 1980, National Steel Car built more than a thousand 50-foot 6-inch single plug-door box cars. The great majority of these 100-ton cars went to Canadian railways, where they served the paper industry above all — a car type still seen from one end of the network to the other.

This model wears the grey, white and black scheme with CNIS reporting marks and the “CN North America” lettering, from the years when Canadian National was asserting its continental reach. What sets it apart is the level of detail of Atlas's Master line: the body reproduces the prototype's 5277 cu ft version, with the end and door variations specific to the scheme modelled. Body-mounted metal couplers, 100-ton trucks with metal wheels and a detailed underframe — the car is ready to run straight out of the box. Pre-order, delivery expected in the first quarter of 2027.
