Looking for a versatile boxcar seen everywhere across North America? The Rapido Trains Evans X72A boxcar, in Canadian National colors, is exactly that kind of piece. CN acquired many of these general-purpose cars, suited to nearly any service.

What sets this model apart is Rapido's signature prototype fidelity. Between 1972 and 1973, Penn Central received the first of more than 1,065 cars in the X72/X72A family, built at the Evans plant in Blue Island, Illinois. Passed to Conrail in 1976, some were fully repainted, others merely patched. CN later acquired a large share. Welded 12-panel construction, 6-panel Superior doors, a fully detailed underframe and 70-ton trucks with 33" metal wheels: everything is here for a realistic, ready-to-run car.

Features

  • Evans X72A welded 12-panel boxcar
  • Canadian National (CN #416503) livery
