Into work trains? This Rapido Trains F30D wheel flatcar, in Canadian National colors, nails the look of maintenance-of-way consists.
What sets this model apart is Rapido's signature prototype fidelity. The Pennsylvania Railroad's 50-foot F30D-class flatcar — 250 near-identical copies of the F30A, built in 1951 — proved so durable that many survived into the Conrail and CSX era. Rebuilt for maintenance-of-way (MOW) service, these wheel flatcars carried wheelsets between shops, secured on dedicated deck racks. Rapido faithfully reproduces the frame, trucks and version-specific detailing. Knuckle couplers, metal wheels and a fully detailed underframe: it is all here.
