Looking for a highly detailed second-generation four-axle unit faithful to a specific prototype? The ScaleTrains EMD GP30, in its premium Rivet Counter line, in Conrail colors, is exactly that kind of standout piece.

Introduced by EMD between 1961 and 1963, the GP30 is instantly recognizable thanks to its one-of-a-kind carbody with the humped roofline above the cab. Built in more than 2,500 examples, this turbocharged 2,250 hp four-axle unit marked the move to second-generation diesels and served for decades on North America's major railroads. This version depicts units inherited from the Pennsylvania Railroad and Penn Central, absorbed into Conrail and repainted in house blue through the 1970s and 1980s.
