The Walthers Cornerstone HO Sawmill Outbuildings is a set of four structures designed to complement 1950s and later sawmill operations on your HO layout. Intended as accessories for the Mountain Lumber Co. Saw Mill (933-3058, sold separately), this kit includes four buildings typical of the equipment found at sawmills and other businesses that generate wood chips and waste.
The Log Debarker is the first stop for logs heading into the mill, where bark is ground away to produce more useful timber with less waste. A quick pass through the Wood Chipper reduces scrap lumber and bark into woodchips, which are then blown through pipes to the chip loaders for shipment to paper mills and other users. The kit includes a Rail Car Wood Chip Loader with special equipment for loading wood chip hoppers and gondolas (available separately), as well as a Truck Wood Chip Loader complete with gravity-feed storage bin and blower details.
