Rapido HO – 53' Husky-Stack Well Car

Since the 2000s, double-stack has been the face of continental railroading, and this single-unit well car is its centerpiece: almost no intermodal train rolls without at least a few.
Rapido recreates this car from a hit prototype. Descended from the "Well Runner" TTX devised to offer a single-unit alternative to long articulated cars, the Husky-Stack was stretched by Gunderson beginning in 2004 to carry 53-foot containers. Over 3,500 have been built for TTX (DTTX), Canadian Pacific (CP), Ferromex (FXE), and the Arkansas & Oklahoma (AOK), and they turn up all over the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The Rapido model stands out for its fully die-cast body — a guarantee of exceptional weight and balance — and its see-through etched-metal walkways. This collection captures all that variety: liveries of the major operators, versions sold with two individually numbered 53' containers, or "bare" versions (without containers) from special runs, ideal if you prefer to load your own boxes.
