Recreating newsprint traffic between Canada and the U.S.? The Atlas NSC 50' boxcar in British Columbia Railway colors recreates the first purpose-built cars for the job, created by National Steel Car (Hamilton, Ontario) in 1967. Their perfectly smooth interior surfaces protected the large paper rolls, stacked two high.

This Atlas Master Line model faithfully recreates the prototype's paint schemes and door configurations (Youngstown lever-type flush plug or exterior-post plug doors). Separately applied detail parts, knuckle couplers, and free-rolling Symington roller-bearing trucks round out a realistic, ready-to-run car.

Features

  • NSC 50' Newsprint Plug-Door Boxcar
  • British Columbia Railway livery
  • Road numbers available: #4664, #4696, #4698
  • First purpose-built newsprint cars (NSC, 1967)
  • Prototypically accurate paint schemes and door configurations
  • Separately applied detail parts
  • Knuckle couplers
  • Free-rolling Symington roller-bearing trucks
  • Ready to run
  • HO scale
  • Recommended minimum curve radius: 18"
  • Made by Atlas (Master Line)
