What sets this model apart is Rapido's signature prototype fidelity. Built by Hawker Siddeley in 1968 for CN's intercity services, the Tempo fleet consisted of Coaches, Snack Coaches, Cafe-Bar-Lounges and Club cars. Equipped with Head End Power (HEP) — a first at the time — they required a locomotive with a HEP generator. Passed on to VIA Rail, the cars then enjoyed a surprising second career: re-equipping the famous Rio Grande Ski Train from 1988, then returning to Canada on the Agawa Canyon Tour Train after CN bought them back. The model features a full multi-colour interior with individually installed seats, track-powered “Easy-Peasy” interior lighting operated by magnetic wand (included), and a fully detailed underbody.
