A Quebec rarity: this Rapido Trains Hawker Siddeley Tempo Snack Coach recreates the cars of Quebec Iron & Titanium's employee train — silver body with a red stripe, black roof and ends, unnumbered just like the prototype.

What sets this model apart is Rapido's signature prototype fidelity. Built by Hawker Siddeley in 1968 for CN's intercity services, the Tempo cars went on to VIA Rail and then the Rio Grande Ski Train. Some found a home at Quebec Iron & Titanium (now Rio Tinto Fer et Titane), which uses them to carry its workforce on its North Shore railway between Havre-Saint-Pierre and the Lac Tio mine. The model features a full multi-colour interior with individually installed seats, track-powered “Easy-Peasy” interior lighting operated by magnetic wand (included), and a fully detailed underbody.

Features

  • Hawker Siddeley Tempo Snack Coach in HO scale, Quebec Iron & Titanium scheme
  • Unnumbered, faithful to the prototype
  • Full, multi-colour interior with individually installed seats
  • Track-powered “Easy-Peasy” interior lighting and working marker lights operated by magnetic wand (included)
  • Capacitor installed for flicker-free lighting over dirty track
  • Complete underbody with separate piping and conduit
  • Detailed diaphragms with etched-metal end gates
  • Super-detailed, free-rolling trucks and wheelsets
  • Separate grab irons installed at the factory
  • Ready-to-run model
  • HO scale
  • Suggested minimum radius: 22"
  • Made by Rapido Trains
