Looking for a complete piggyback set, ready to run with nothing to assemble? The Rapido Trains Vancouver Iron Works piggyback flatcar in Canadian National colors, already loaded with two 26' trailers in CN colors, is exactly what you need. Rather than buying the flatcar and its trailers separately, you get a realistic, complete TOFC scene in one go — the quintessential Canadian carrier car, topped with its two 26' Can-Car trailers, ready to drop into your intermodal cuts. Please note: the included trailers may come, at random, in CN Intermodal, CN Express/Messageries, or any other livery in the CN family.

What sets this model apart is the prototype fidelity Rapido is known for. Drawn from original blueprints, the flatcar recreates one of the 283 cars Canadian National ordered from Vancouver Iron and Engineering Works (VIEW), delivered starting in 1966 and in service into the late 1980s. Purpose-built for TOFC service, it handles both short 26' trailers and longer ones, and its shorter length (compared to 89' TOFC flatcars) lets it negotiate tighter curves. Heavy die-cast center sill, photo-etched deck, wire grab irons, and modeler-installable hitches: everything is there for a realistic, weighty set, ready to run.

Features

  • Vancouver Iron Works (VIEW) piggyback (TOFC) flatcar
