Introduced by EMD in 1965, the GP40 is a turbocharged 3,000 hp four-axle unit, a contemporary of the GP38 but more powerful. Built in over 1,200 examples, it served on countless North American railroads, from fast freight to commuter work. This version recreates Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) GP40s under the Chessie System banner.
