Modeling in HO and looking for a faithful, finely detailed tank car?

What sets this model apart is its fidelity: the NACC 20,500 gallon non-insulated welded tank car (1963 design), inspired by the North American Car Corporation cars produced from 1963 to 1966, reproduces the prototype right down to the tank fittings, the underframe components, the see-through walkways, the fine handrails and the A.E. Staley lettering (AESX reporting marks). These cars carried vegetable oils, dyes, coatings, ethylene glycol, kerosene, gasoline and many other liquids.

Features

  • NACC (1963 design) 20,500 gallon tank car — AESX “Staley”
  • Non-insulated welded tank with no expansion dome
  • Ready-to-run (RTR) model, painted and assembled
  • See-through walkways and platforms; handrails, ladders and separately applied details
  • Detailed brake system with flexible air hoses
  • HO scale (1:87.1)
  • Tangent 100-ton Barber S-2 trucks
  • CNC-machined 36″ metal wheels; Kadee® scale couplers; weighted to NMRA specifications
  • Suitable for freight trains from the 1960s through the modern era
  • Made by Tangent Scale Models
