Do your locomotives stall or flicker over turnouts, frogs and dirty track sections? TCS's KA5-P Keep-Alive® is the biggest in the line: it stores the energy needed to ride through power interruptions without a hitch.
A keep-alive module stores energy in supercapacitors and feeds it back to the decoder whenever current pickup is interrupted — dirty track, poor contact, insulated switch points. The KA5-P adds a fifth supercapacitor, giving it the highest capacity and peak charging voltage in TCS's standard line; it provides roughly 6 to 20 seconds of run-time in HO (headlights on), depending on motor efficiency.
The “-P” version ships with a 2-pin polarized quick-connect harness for a clean, solder-free hookup to compatible TCS decoders. A hardwire connection is still possible — blue wire to positive, black-with-white-stripe wire to ground — including on other makers' decoders.
