Between 1979 and 1984, Union Pacific's Omaha Shops rebuilt 75 aging SW7, SW9 and TR5A switchers into SW10s: 645 power assemblies, all-new wiring, two GP9 fans housed in a unique hood hump and an FRA clean-cab interior. The SW10s later scattered to Ferromex, Canadian Pacific, short lines and lessors. Rapido reproduces the SW10 in HO scale with an ESU LokSound DCC and sound decoder factory-installed and the Mo-Power capacitor system. Every version offered here is DCC and sound. Pre-order.
